How do I find Yahoo! Yellow Pages?
You can access Yahoo! Yellow Pages directly through the Yahoo.com home page, or by going to http://yp.yahoo.com

Who can access these listings?
Anyone with Internet access can get to this site.

Under what categories will my listing appear on the Yahoo! Yellow Pages site?
By participating in the Allstate program, your listing would appear under the following Insurance categories:
  • Insurance - Life
  • Insurance - Automotive
  • Insurance - Home
  • Insurance - All

    It seems kind of hard to find a listing.
    There are a few steps, but that’s standard for the Internet. Basically, the consumer:
    1. Types in "Insurance" in the “Name or Category" field and the city and state of where they are looking, if one is not already specified for the consumer. If a city and state is specified, the consumer would have to click on "Change location" in the upper right-hand side of the page.
    2. Selects "Legal and Financial>Insurance" from a list of related categories.
    3. Chooses what they are specifically looking for from the list of Insurance categories,
    4. Looks through the advertisers and clicks on an ad,
    5. Goes to a website or jump page with the advertisers' contact and product information.

    People who use the Internet often are used to having to go through a couple of pages before they get their search results.

    ALLSTATE PROGRAM

    I looked at the site, and my listing is already there. What am I paying for?
    Most sites do offer free listings, however Ketchum does not have involvement in these listings and they are not guaranteed as to how they appear. By participating in the Allstate program, you ultimately get three things:
    a) You get better positioning, within the listings because paid listings come ahead of free listings.
    b) There will be an Allstate logo, which will help grab the consumer’s attention.
    c) This program provides a link to your agent home page at Allstate.com, so consumers can get more information about you and your agency.


    How will I be listed?
    Listings are arranged in order based on distance from the city or zip code searched.

    Does this go directly to Allstate.com? Will I be competing with Home Office? Won’t this take away from my sales?
    A link will appear below your listing that will take the consumer directly to your home page at Allstate.com. Internet Yellow Pages are primarily used to find a phone number/address. In this case, they would find your number/address.

    What if there are two agents in my office?
    We can do 2 things-
    a) Agents can pay for two separate listings
    b) List both names on one listing, but can only link to one web site, and only one agent can receive co-op reimbursement.

    What is the cost of the program?
    $199, which after co-op, amounts to only $99.50, annually! Because it is a newer medium, the cost is lower than your Yellow Pages print advertising. Print Yellow Pages advertising is a more established medium, still gets plenty of usage and is also well worth the investment. On-line and print Yellow Pages advertising work together to reach consumers when they are ready to buy. They compliment each other and do not replace one another.

    How long is this program?
    Your listing(s) will be on the site for one year, beginning November 2003.

    Do I have to place the order myself?
    No, we can place the order for you, with your credit card information.

    I’m moving in a few months. Can I update my listing?
    Yes, listings can be changed on an ongoing basis. Simply contact us with the correct information and we can change the information on the site.

    What other sites can I advertise on?
    At this time, we are only offering this opportunity. However, we are constantly exploring opportunities with other sites, and will notify you as others become available.

    Payment and Co-op Questions

    How do I pay?
    The program is prepaid using Visa, MasterCard or American Express. Unfortunately, Discover Card and personal checks are not accepted.

    Do I have to pay it all up front?
    Yes, you pay the full amount up front. If you want co-op reimbursement, we will submit your information to Co-op at the time the listings run, and they will reimburse you for half your expenditure, provided that you have Co-op funds available.

    Can I pay via Commission Deduct?
    Unfortunately, Commission Deduct is not available for this program.

    Is this a monthly cost?
    No, $199 is your annual cost.

    I’m being asked for my shipping info. Will something be shipped to me?
    No, your shipping information serves as your billing info.

    How does the Co-op work?
    As with any Co-op program, we have to wait until the advertising runs before we can submit the reimbursement request. We will send the information to Co-op the day the advertising is posted to the site.

    Will I get a receipt?
    When you place your order, you can print the screen off of your computer. In addition, you will receive an email confirming receipt of your order. When the site goes up, we'll provide ACB (Allstate's co-op reimbursement vendor) with proof of advertising.
